David Lee Richards June 17, 1947 - November 12, 2012 Richards, David Lee Age 65, of Placitas, NM passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 after an unexpected illness. He was born on June 17, 1947 in Buttur, PA and grew up in Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. and Ruth Casper Richards. David is survived by his son, Coady Richards; sister, Trudy Richards Stoner and husband David; brother, Robert J. Richards, Jr.; four nephews. David was a decorated combat Vietnam Veteran and served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. He was well loved and recognized in the Placitas community where he lived since 1970. He was well known for his kindness and generosity to those in need. David was a co-founder and original member of the Placitas Volunteer Fire Department. Services for David are pending. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in David's honor to Casa Rosa Food Bank, P.O. Box 768, Placitas, NM 87043
